The Heretaunga College redevelopment was a staged re-construction of a major secondary school, completed over an 18 month period.
The challenging two staged programme divided the college into a four phase redevelopment. As each phase was completed in stage one the pupils were able to move out of existing areas and into completed areas during the term breaks.
The project team has received a number of awards for its innovative approach to the teaching spaces and circulation areas, and the high quality of workmanship achieved. The most notable award being the NZIA award presented to Opus architecture and Holmes Wellington.
