Incorporating 326 Apartments, a Building Managers Office, five Retail Shops, Swimming Pool, Gymnasium, and one Level of Car parking, the SOHO Apartments project was a feat of management and construction for the Holmes Group.
The original programme timeline was 24 months, Holmes finished the project after an acceleration request from the Client in 22.5 months. This was achieved through practical management systems, effective planning of the works, and the commitment, experience and skill of Holmes’ Site Management Team and the company as a whole.
This project included four 15 storey towers on a two storey podium. The podium footprint covered the entire site; the site having two of its boundaries facing council roads, and two abutting adjacent buildings. The Tower Crane for the project was erected through the podium structure. Safety of the Public was a major consideration with high-rise construction bounding the very busy Taranaki Street and the very narrow but also very busy Egmont Street.
